How do I refund using my TGate Gateway in RMS 8?

Overview

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Refunds can be made to any credit card using both tokens or manually entered.
  • Reversals of a credit card processed through your gateway, can only be done prior to the batch of the day.

Refunding through your TGate Gateway

Highlight the receipt on the Guests account that you wish to refund.

Select the refund button.

The below screen will appear.

Change the ‘Refund Amt’ to be the figure you wish to refund back to the Guest (Remember this cannot be more that the amount the receipt was originally for).

If you have chosen to manually enter the card details, when you choose process the below screen will appear.  If you choose to use a token on file this screen will not appear.

Select OK, if the refund is successful a message will appear stating 'Approved'.

Select OK and the refund will be processed to the account.

Reversing a Receipt throug your TGate Gateway

NOTE: Reversals can only be completed on the day of receipt, once the day has been batched at TGate a reversal can no longer occur.

Highlight the receipt on the Reservations account that you wish to reverse.

Select the 'Rev Receipt' button.

The below screen will appear.  Enter the reason for your reversal and select OK.

The gateway will attempt to refund the monies back to the original credit card, if the reversal is successful a message will appear stating 'Approved'.

Select OK and the refund will be processed to the account.
