MFI Installation Instructions

Overview

This article will take you through the steps to installing the Multi Function Interface (MFI).

The Multi Function Interface or MFI is used to automatically create charges in your RMS system from a third party Point of Sale, Internet Billing or Movies on Demand software.

Important Information

  • You must have Full Version 8.11.821 or higher installed to use this interface.

Steps

First Step - Activation

Right click on the icon for RMS for Windows from your desktop

Choose Properties

Choose Target and insert at the end of the target information inset “ MFI” (space bar then MFI)

Choose Apply

Click the General Tab

At the very top rename from RMS for Windows to MFI

Choose Apply

Choose OK

Double Click MFI icon from your desktop

You will then be prompted “Is your Property Running on RMS Cloud”

Second Step - Installation

If running from RMS Cloud answer YES

Enter your RMS Client ID number

Enter your Web-service password available from RMS Support

Enter you MFI shared folder

Enter your time to check every (recommend 60 sec)

Use the drop down arrow on property and select your property name

Select Save and Exit

If not running from RMS Cloud answer NO

Click on OK

Use the drop down arrow for the SQL server and select the correct server

Enter the User Name

Enter the Password

Use the drop down arrow and select the Database name

Enter the Command Time Out as 500

Enter you MFI shared folder

Use the drop down arrow on property and select your property name

Click on OK
