Overview

The RMS Book Now Button can be configured in a range of ways to achieve the best results for your property. 

The look and feel of the screens can be changed at user level to better reflect the property website.  This is done by modifying elements within the link (URL) that opens the RMS Book Now Button.  You can experiment with the URLs by modifying them in the address bar and including the modified elements outlined below.  Any web developer should also be able to do this for you. 

The modifiers are added to the end of the RMS Book Now Button URL.  You can also add multiple modifiers for a combination of effects.

Alternate Views

Standard View

This is the standard view for loading the RMS Book Now Button.  Once the guest makes their booking selections and clicks on the  'Go' button, the RMS Book Now Button will show availability for all room types with the applicable rate types for the selected period.

Modifier

No Modifier is required

Availability and Rate View Options

Leading on from our standard booking page above you have the option to choose between three (3) different rate and availability views.

This option is set in your RMS9 system under Setup > Online Bookings > Options > Options Tab (shown below).

Display Rate Grid with Room Type Details Closed (default)

 

Display Rate Grid with Room Type Details Open

Display Total Rate View

Show Specific Room Types Only

In this view the RMS Book Now Button will open the rates and availability page showing rates, images and descriptions for a specific room type or a selection of room types.

XXXX = Your RMS Client ID

Y = The RMS Channel ID

Z = The RMS Room Type ID

NOTE: If you wish to show more than one room type, seperate each ID with a comma. E.g. /1,4,6

No Payment Request

This option allows for bookings which bypass the payment screens.  This can be used for agents or special guests who are not required to make a payment.

Promotional Codes

If you wish to have a set of rooms and rates which are only available to those guests who are responding to certain marketing activitiy, you use the 'Promo Code' feature.  When marketing certain deals include a promo code in the advertisement. 

OR

If you wish to use a Discount Promotion Code via Discounts in your RMS9 system.

 

By entering the code into the promo code field on the RMS Book Now Button, rates which would otherwise be hidden to other guests will be exposed.

 

To use the Promotion Code field you must first turn this option on under Setup > Online Bookings > Options > General Tab (shown below)

 

 

To use the example below enter the word *DEscape into the promo code field provided.

Default Rates and Availability to a Map

This link will allow you to display a map of your property for your guest to select their Room Type from.

This link will allow you to display a specific Room Type and Rate Type.

NOTE: This feature will be released with version 3.5.3 or higher of the RMS Book Now Button.

Expose the Physical Number of Available Areas

This link will allow you to expose the physical number of areas that are available for each day/each room type.

Widgets

The Widget is a tool that your web developer can embed into your site that allows visitors to enter the number of guests and the dates of their stay.  When they click the 'NEXT' button the RMS Book Now Button will open pre-populated with that search information.

RMS Widgets are supplied at no cost or you can have your web developer create one for you.

The manual widget allows your web developer to create your own style of widget and using the below elements below (example above) have this flow through to your RMS Book Now Button.

The RMS designed widget (see screen shot below as per the above URL) can be used in place of your own design (as per the above RMS Manual Widget).

 

NOTE: If your database is RMS Central (multi property) and you use your owner RMS Client ID in the widget above an additional field will show in the widget for a property selection.

As shown below the RMS widget can grow/shrink vertically, therefore, please ensure that the frame you add our widget to has a scrollable Y axis on overflow.
