Return Guest Matching

Overview

RMS Online Bookings will now match returning guests with existing records in your database to stop the duplication of client records for return guests.

 

This feature will apply to all online bookings regardless of which channel the booking comes from.

Feature

We will match guest information between the online booking information and your existing guest records on;

 

  • Surname
  • Given Name
  • Email

 

All three pieces of information must match in order for that guest record to be used.

 

1. If a booking is made online with the 3 matching criteria; RMS will use the most recent existing guest record and adds the new booking to the guest's reservation history
 

2. If a booking is made online with the 3 matching criteria, however, the contact information (address or phone) is different to the most recent existing RMS guest record; the existing guest record is used and updated with the new contact information

 

3. If a booking is made online with the 3 matching criteria, however, information is omitted from the online booking information (i.e. mobile number) that does exist on the most recent existing guest record in RMS; this detail will not be changed on the RMS existing client record.

What are the benefits of this feature?

This feature stops the creation of duplicate client records in your RMS system and also ensures that your guest records are kept up to date with the latest guest information.
