Whether you are an existing Expedia customer or you wish to sign up with them, this article will take you through the steps to make the process of using the RMSOnline interface with Expedia easy!
You will need to request to have the email notification turned on at Expedia, this will ensure that you are emailed confirmation when reservations are made.
For the purpose of connecting to Expedia you will need to use the EQC Username and Password, provided to you by Expedia.
Expedia do not send RMS CCV numbers for Expedia Collect bookings. Therefore, when you access the RMS Vault these details will not be accessible, instead you will need to refer to your Expedia Confirmation Email for this informaiton.
When you connect to Expedia through the RMS9 Channel Management screen you will note that each Room Type/Rate Plan combination returned from Expedia has three entries, each entry is followed by one of the following in brackets;
Hotel Collect (The Room Type/Rate Plan that RMS will control)
Expedia Collect (Must be linked but have 'No Update' checked)
Package (Must be linked but have 'No Update' checked)
Hotel Collect Room Type/Rate Plan combinations are identifiable in Expedia as have a Rate Plan ID that ends in an 'A'. These are the Room Type, Rate Plans that RMS will manage for you.
All other combinations must be linked so that RMS can retrieve reservations from Expedia for them, however, they MUST be ticked as 'No Update' as shown on the below screen shot.
The RMSOnline interface with Expedia allows you to control the following Expedia features direct from your RMS9 system;
