Overview
This article will take you through the steps to setup your RMS Cloud connection on a Mac.
Feature
Please follow these instructions on each Mac computer that requires a connection to the RMS Cloud System. If you are using a Windows Computer, please CLICK HERE to be taken to the document RMS Cloud Setup Instructions for Windows Computers.
Downloading the 2X Application
Download the 2X Application Server Client using the below link:

Choose to save the file to your desktop
Installing the 2X Application
Double click on the file named '2XClient-latest.dmg' you have downloaded to start the installation.
Double click on the '2XClient.pkg' icon in the window that is displayed.

Click the 'Continue' button.

You will need to click the 'Continue' button and click 'Agree' to continue.

Click on 'Install' to begin the installation.

Enter your username and password.

Click 'Close' to complete the installation.

You will now see a pop up indicating that you have no connections configured. Click 'Add' to add your RMS Cloud connection details.
Configuring your RMS Cloud Connection
The 2X Application Server Client may now search for servers (and not find any); In which case it may display the 'Connection Properties' box below.
If you don't see this box, select 'Add New 2X Connection...' on the 'File' menu.

You need to now fill out the Connection/Server details as per the below information. It is imperative that you enter the details for your region as shown below for the connection to be successful:

Now select the 'Local Resources' TAB and choose the following options:

NOTE: If your Internet connection is slow you may need to reduce the Display to 256 colors.
Select the 'Experience' TAB and choose Broadband Connection

NOTE: If your Internet connection is slow you may need to select Modem 56k.
Leave all options as they are on the 'Network' and 'Advanced Settings' Tabs
Choose 'OK'
The server will now connect tot he RMS Cloud system and display the list of application groups available to you.

You can now open RMS by double clicking the 'RMS Cloud' shortcut icon:
- In the 2X Client when you select the 'RMS Cloud' connection
- On your desktop
The first time you run RMS Cloud, you may see a 'Security Alert' about the server security certificate being self signed. Tick the 'Do not ask me again' option and then click 'Yes' to proceed.

You may close the 2X Application Server Client box at any time. It will simply minimize to the menu bar (near the time at the top of the screen) so that it is always accessible. You can open it again by clicking the '2X' icon and then clicking 'Browse Applications' as shown below.

Important note for new RMS customers
If you are a new RMS customer, then you are ready to begin your training and start configuring your database. Your Primary Support Person will be in contact with your shortly, however, you can get started now using our Self Setup Program CLICK HERE TO SEE THE RMS SELF SETUP PROGRAM
Important note for existing customers migrating to RMS Cloud
If you are an existing RMS Customer you will notice that the database you have just connected to in blank. You will now need to log a Service Request (Click here to find out how) to organise a time to migrate your existing database to the RMS Cloud system.
Once this process is complete, you must uninstall your current RMS software. This is critical to ensure your RMS data on the cloud is not overwritten.
- Go to your windows start button
- Choose Control Panel
- Choose Add/Remove Programs (or if using Vista choose Programs and Features)
- Find RMS for Windows in the list, click once to highlight
- Choose remove or uninstall
- If you see RMSOnline Client or RMS Configurator, remove these also
- Repeat these steps on all computers which have RMS installed
